We are officially a few weeks into the new year. How are you feeling? Are you already burnt out on “new year, new me, blah blah blah” that you have seen since January 1st? Or are you thriving and striving for 2023 to be your best year yet?

You might be coming off of 2022 fatigued, heavy hearted and ready to rest. Or you might be motivated and eager to set goals, live a healthy balanced lifestyle, and reach for dreams. OR, you might be somewhere in the middle trying to take it day by day.

No matter where you fall on the pendulum, it is OK. One thing I can struggle with the most on the internet is comparing what I’m doing to other moms, wives, believers, influencers, etc. “Am I doing enough? Being enough for those around me? Working hard enough? Having a good work/life balance? Am I loving my kids and husband well?” So on top of these swirling thoughts every day, we are tempted to start the year feeling like we need to change and do things drastically different than the year before.

I am here to cheer you on in whatever way you need. Do you need me to say “You go sis! You CAN make that big dream happen!” Or do you need me to say “hey, it’s ok to BE STILL, rest, and let go of those pressures and expectations you put on yourself?”

Whatever it may be, send me an email or dm and I will be there to encourage you towards what you need.

As I personally looked back on 2022 and ahead to 2023, I felt like I needed to make some changes. I spent half of 2022 pregnant and exhausted, and the last half of 2022 treading water and barely surviving with adding a newborn to our life- so no longer pregnant but still exhausted. Much of 2022 is a blur where I did not feel like myself. My head space and physical space (our home), felt constantly messy, unorganized, and anxiety producing.

So as I processed through what I wanted 2023 to be, PEACE and PRESENCE are words that kept coming to mind. And a lot of that for me starts in my home. I spend most of my days at home with our infant and (busy) toddler, and I very easily feel overwhelmed and overstimulated by the mess that comes with having littles. So I started the New Year following Simplified’s daily Simplicity Challenge. It has attainable challenges everyday from decluttering, cleaning, and organizing all areas of your life and home. It has felt motivating to me and given me the kick in the rear I needed to create a space that provides more peace so that I can be present with our family and less overwhelmed and anxious.

Besides decluttering and deep cleaning, organizing has become a necessity for me. And I have found that some of our closets and small spaces are just awkward and in need of some help, so I have added bins, baskets, and things that are functional and aesthetically pleasing to help fill a functionality need and still be pretty. I’m sure as the year goes on, I will need to do a refresh and reset, but it feels good to start the year getting more organized, at a slow and attainable pace.

Over on my LTK I have rounded up some of my favorite items to help with organizing your spaces! You can find inspo and shop the items here or through the image below.

Whatever you may be feeling towards this new year I hope and pray it is a good one for you! Thank you for being here as we navigate 2023 and all that it brings!
