About Me

Hi! I’m Keely, a stay-at-home-mama, blogger, and content creator. I have been married to my husband, Kyle, for 10 years (wow, where has the time gone?), and we have two kids- a seven month old boy, Noah, and 3 year old girl, Emmaline.

For those that are newer around here, I thought I would give a little backstory to how The Adorned Lifestyle has become what it is today.

Seven years ago, I started a woodworking/calligraphy business called Adorned Decor. Adorned means to make beautiful, which was a perfect description for what I wanted to do- make beautiful decor that would bless people's lives. For a few years, I spent my days learning hand lettering and making signs from scratch, teaching myself how to use power tools, and growing my small business out of my garage. After hustling for a few years, I decided to close up shop but still wanted to use my creativity. During this transition, I worked for a local clothing boutique in KC. Working there is what really started to grow my interest in fashion and the influencer world. I got first-hand experience working with local creators, planning events, networking, and learning the ins and outs of social media.

In 2016, while working at the boutique, my husband and I were ready to start growing our family. It took a few months before we got our first positive pregnancy test. Shortly after finding out the exciting news, we lost our baby to miscarriage in April 2017. Just two months later, we found out we were pregnant again but sadly lost that baby as well. It was a long and hard year full of grieving and healing before we were ready to start trying again. I was an open book on social media with my miscarriage and grief journey, which opened up my connections to others experiencing similar heartache.

In the spring of 2018, we found out we were pregnant for the third time. We had passed some pregnancy milestones and saw the heartbeat of our precious baby. Excitement and relief grew as we shared our news and prepared to have our rainbow baby. Devastation came when our baby’s heart suddenly stopped beating—another loss. Three babies were born to heaven in just 15 months.

After that loss, I felt a calling to use our story to help others, so the Adorned Life blog was born. I wanted to use what I had built with Adorned Decor but change the name to encompass more of my life outside of making and selling décor. Sharing the loss of our Lily, Levi, and Emily was the heartbeat of Adorned Life, as my blog was a place for those to come to learn about miscarriage and how they can support friends or family walking that same road. But I had bigger dreams and goals to use this website to share more.

After welcoming our rainbow baby, Emmaline, into the world in 2019, I took a year off from blogging to focus on learning the ropes of motherhood. During this time, my creative desires were burning inside me to do something, so I started moving towards sharing more of my life on social media. I shared the things I love: fashion, motherhood, and decor, which turned into what some call, influencing. The last two years have been an absolute blast connecting with local businesses, fellow creators, and my followers.

So, what originally started as Adorned Decor, has morphed into The Adorned Lifestyle Blog. This will be a space where I share ways I find beauty in everyday life through affordable and attainable fashion, home, motherhood, and more! I hope when you visit my blog, you will be inspired by the beauty of the everyday details!
